Our purchase of the year. Insulated rice bowls. £2.00 each and they work very well. They keep the porridge nice and hot. And The Girl now gets a bowl in her lunch box so that her soup du jour is at peak temperature too. I am smug.
On the other hand, the first weekly shop of the new year found me purchasing an iceberg lettuce for (oh the shame of it!) £1.19. And it was tiny and pathetic. I tried to pretend that it was a top quality lunch addition all week, but it wasn't. So the next week I corrected and made coleslaw. Not even the third of the price and much nicer.
